Yeah I expect to use a bit of oil but not at the rate I am. I will have a good check over everything tonight and post up the results. If it turns out to be rings then it sucks but its not the end of the world.
I get a fair bit of dark smoke at WOT, enough to be abnormal. Lets hope its somthing simple although it never is.
So I got the compression test done:
140
138
141
140
All a bit low but Junior said the rings obviously have not seated yet. Plus I am using stock HG's now which he said will naturally lower it a bit.

yeah im going to start on the leak today as its my day off. I am hoping its a hose and not a tgv gasket

Okay so I fixed my leak but my afr is still running a little high at idle, 15.0 more or less so I am assuming I have another small leak somewhere which il have to find.
I did however find another video online of the exact same ticking I have from my car, I cant post up my videos at all which is frustrating but anyway il let you all have a watch and let me know what you think........

Another problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ugh..... details to follow
So my new header is leaking, the flex pipe weave is not holding the exhaust gases and its pouring out of the one side. This is very dissapointing. I am now in 2 minds about what to do.
Do I cough up more money for a new header above the refund Josh is giving me, or do I use the broken header I have from the first broken manifold and have it welded to make a custom rotated kit?
I know the rotated version will require a lot more welding and pain etc in the beggining but would be cleaner in the end. Plus I hate stock location and how it is squeezed around the tgv.
Thoughts??
I think your right, tonight its a few beers and no thinking about the car till tomorrow.
Then il weigh up my options, its annoying that the car was still using a lot of oil so il probably get a rotated setup together and still be drinking oil. Although while its apart I can check the heads again, pcv valve etc etc. Anything that may cause the problem.

I cant use my stock manifold anymore because I sold it to someone doing a VW Beetle conversion plus I dont think Ron would want me asking him to start over again tuning the car when we were making some good progress. It was a good idea though.
As far as changing to a 207 its not going to happen, the car is a 255 from stock, imho i would feel like I was going backwards not forwards. I feel in a place where we have mainly straight roads and big open highways the displacment is an advantage.
Il be heading out to the car shortly to look over everything and weigh up my options again. I am hoping to be able to get this done quickly but I want to do it right
Also looks like we will be swithching to 94 octane when the manifold issue is fixed, Ron says it will be worth it for the gains as we have such crappy gas up here.
Anybody tried this before???
