A new update:

Pulled the broken RAW block, its amazing how fast it can be done once you know what your doing lol

The shortblock is now dealt with. New one coming from Junior2JZ, this is the new spec:

Ej25 702/703 Casing

Manley pistons (coated) 99.75mm

Manley Rods

Nitrade Crank

Weight Matched ( balanced rotating assembly )

ACL race Bearings

Pinned stock liners

Oringed stock liners ( for cometic Head gaskets )

Bored/Honed/Decked with RA surface (cometic RA requirement ) and Assembled

Needless to say Juniors build quality should be better than a thrown together RAW block!

Im excited and nervous, lets just hope it works out this time!!

had a chat with Junior about goals for the car, patiently waiting now, cant wait to see how she can pull with decent compression!

So, a little update, Junior pulled the block apart and found what he described as some of the worst bearing clearances / damage he has ever seen!! The cause is probably the poorly modified crank which actually reduces oiling, not improving it.

Here is the new colour scheme for the intercooler, timing cover and the cam covers....... me likey.... haha

Junior is going on holiday for a week but hopefully managed to get the pistons in stock and everything sent to the machine shop!

Poor build quality. The clearances were all off and the crank had been poorly modified causing poor oiling of the bearings. This caused premature failure of the block. Instead of lasting 30k it lasted 3k.

Well a little update.........

No real progress. Been waiting a month now for the shortblock. Junior went on holiday for 2 weeks and now the block has been machined he is still waiting on back ordered bearings from ACL. It is very frustrating to say the least.

I want my car back!!!

Also Junior is a very hard man to get ahold of which can makes things more difficult. Hoping some progress can be made this week. The car is just sat right now missing out on the nice weather.
