more updates.....
received some parts today, AEM UEGO (came with weld in thread), belts, blouch oil line, ic hose...
turns out to make my setup work I have now had to ordered the AVCS hard oil line for the 06 STI. This feeds round to the head bolt but then stops instead of continuing to feed the turbo. Then I will just tap into the rear oil feed on the back of the head that the WRX normally uses.
Also finished setting up my EBCS / MBC system with my brother tonight, looks like a plumbing nightmare but makes sense...
Should have the hard oil line by wednesday, then the engine goes in on Saturday

sS after a very very long night last night we made some awesome progress with the oil line situation! Decided to block off the current hard line with a cap and tap into the rear oil feed same as the sti's do. Used some JB weld to ensure there are no leaks and the cap doesnt come off.
So now the turbo and inlet are properly fitted, il take some pics of the custom bracket which solved a few issues with the stock location and a bigger turbo scenario. Plumbed in the ebcs / mbc in its final position, cable tied etc. Re-nstalled all plugs and connectors. just need to torque down the intake mani and turbo to uppipe bolts to spec and its on to the alternator and ac pump tonight!!

I was thinking about an Fp red but thought it turned out to be over kill. I had heard many good things about the dom3xtr, mainly fast spool and good high end power for the size.
The engine really is just about finished, few little things today then il take some more pics.... Today is my birthday!

UPDATE!!!
So the engine is in and running! Had some issues with the MAF being backwards and the car not starting, once it was fixed though it runs well. A little bit of a knocking / tapping sound at very low revs but goes away comlpletely when driven.
Could be valve train I guess, or injectors pulsing?
Once that was done the work began on rolling the rear fenders and pulling them to fit the new wheels. Went well and only a small crack of the paint which was easily touched up. Sill need to do the fronts though, maybe tomorrow.
Now working on doing the e-tune with Phatron from Phatbotti tuning. Got the MAF scaling just about done, now on to the next stage... whatever that is!!??
Also the car will not make any boost at the moment or go above about 3700rpm under WOT, is this just because the tune is not done yet?
Lots of pictures and a video or 2 to come too!
I ended up with DW850's lol, its weird at low revs like 700rpm its there but anything above and there is now noise and runs very smooth,
Im jst scared of rod knock but I drove over 140kms on it today so think it would of got worse by now
The shortblock had 2k on it before so did not need to be brken in, still think its a good idea??
Guess it would show any metal from rod bearing issues
just the shortblock, my heads were cleaned, new oil pan, new pickup, no oil cooler as its WRX not STi. Also blew every line out as much as possible.
I mean I could just be being paranoid, it sounds a bit more slappy than clacky like rod knock but who knows! I hope its ok....
