little update for you all. didnt do anythingto the main structure of the pickup, I was roughing out ideas for my dash install. ive ended up getting a dashboard out of a corsa b.ive tried cutting loads off the dash and to the shape of the window and it didnt quite sit right. The clocks didnt centre up too well and center console was a little off center. Now ive got the spare roof from the GT i cut the front portion of the roof off level with the gutter.I then placed it on the dash rail to see how well it fitted. its fits fairly well, just needs lengthening.
Im going to try and shoehorn the corsa glove box in too. with a little modification it should fit fairly easily. I started by cutting an curve in the metal to take the clock housing thats been split away from the rest of the dash.
And the clocks sitting in.
With these screwed in, I started to trim the center console so that it sits hard up against the clocks to center it over the tunnel a bit more.
Ive also used some patterning paper to bring the curve round from where the metal finished.Ive got a longer bit left on the roof
Its all coming together quite well now. bit more roughing out with paper and i can attack the real thing!!
