Getting closer! The fenders, hood, and doors have all been gapped properly. Black final primer has been laid down to rest for more blocking then they should be ready for paint! ? trunk and end caps need a little more work, but it’s getting there. Well it happened... the rear end caps cracked! ??‍♂️ I know I know, some of you warned me about this. I’m a little stubborn, as we set to mold these in to appear all one piece. So my body ripped both ends off again and this time used aerospace grade bond and put a layer of fiberglass over the end caps for additional strength. If they use this bonding agent for drones, why wouldn’t it be good enough for @camilathe68cougar to hold onto her end caps? ? the front caps fortunately used the aerospace grade bond before the black primer in my previous post. Drum roll please! Here’s a sneak peak of the “bolt-on’s” painted so far. I think there’s been a little confusion with the color in the last couple of posts mainly due to lighting and well my body guy/painter isn’t much of a photographer but that’s not too important ?. Anyway, the color comes from the late model @fordperformance GT350/Raptors called Avalanche Grey. We then laid @basf_na  @glasurit_official for a banging clear coat that has incredible, dare I say; #bling factor in the sun. The front molded in extension look awesome as I imagined it in my mind. I’m super happy with the results. I never knew how much work it takes to get to this type of results, it was well worth the hundreds of hours spent to do a job like this. I can’t wait to visit the shop to see this in person. Here’s a couple of more shots of Camila. As it continues to cure we decided to multi sand the clear and Re-shoot @glasurit_official clear for added depth and add to the bling factor. Allow the combination of sanding grits commence! The clear is being sanding down in multi grit stages. The next step is to pay another visit into the paint booth for lay down another layer of @basf_global @glasurit_officialclear for that even better finish.
