Bumper build started after breaking my reciever on waterfall
pics... i got some 2" x 1/4 flat from work and sheared it all to the appropriate lengths to try and cut down on the plasma time. and to save some of my 3/16 plate for other stuff...
Heres the back with the trips stating to go on
dring welded to the front
checkin out the "look"
Here is the receiver cut down w/ a new hole drilled for the pin
from the side
pic of the side "cap"
receiver welded in, i also weded the stiffeing ring on fully
here you can see the old hole
another of the pic clearance, i also welded some gussets on the inside to distribute the force over the back plate
another from the side so you can see the receiver height
as it sits
still need to weld the top and bottom mounting tabs, weld the side mounting bolts in, make the frame tie-ins, make the safety chain mount and weld the front of the drings. then LOTS of grinding to smooth out all the corners.
and the main reason for all this got picked up yesterday. my new trailer project. complete TJ tub. it was a fire salvage thats been sitting a while so its got some surface rust. but my buddy is in the monument business and has an automated sandblaster in a 6x10x8 room so it should get blasted by the end of the week.
