This is how the NPI sat until today when I was able to pull of some parts i'll be using, camcovers, timing cover, oil pan.

I didn't realize how hard 125K miles worth of grease and gime was to get off the timing cover. They're gettin there though.

No doubt. Believe me if I could find a house with a garage for rent (for a reasonable $) i'd already be in it. Housing prices are threw the roof here. Luckly my apt Mgr. is willing to look the other way for a week or two as nowadays you can't work on your car anywhere but a garage and maybe your driveway depending on your particular town/city ordinances. Things sure have changed.

Alright, good news today. Xcal3 came in today and my tuner is writing the base tunes for me, I'll have it on Fri. MAC will have my replacement headers here by Fri.also. So everythings on the up and up for getting this together and running by mid week.

ahh man! Went out today and pulled the crank out of the NPI so I can take it tomorrow with the TFS crank gears to get welded together and found that the rod bearings were SMOKED!! About 125K/130K=

When driving it at about 2500-3000 RPM in say 4th gear, if I were to mash the gas it would make a "knocking" type sound that sounded to me like piston slap. Wasn't really loud but loud enough. But after learning how tough those cylinders really are. It makes perfect sense that it was the mains.

TODAY IS THE DAY ! I can't wait! I should be recieving the last of the things required to complete this engine. My heads/cams, replacement LT's (damaged in shipping), drivers side engine mount (got 2 pass ones) and my Xcal3 with base tunes on it for break-in. I'll post pics when they get here. I will finally get this together and installed in the car. I hope to have it in and running by Mon night.

Got'em! Stage III MHS PI Heads w/3.5 cams

Thanks wld_wst Also got my got my mount and headers. Wierd thing is our mail didn't come today. It's not a holiday is it? O well i'll probably get my tuner tomorrow.

I really like the way the MAC LT's are compared to the BBK's as far as the weld not extending into and restricting exhaust flow. It's on the outside of the diameter of the inner tube.
