Last weekend i used my new airbrush gun to paint in all the holes seen in the bottom trunk lid. when i sprayed it it didn't get in there very well and when the trunk lid was opened, you could see primer in the holes. so i sprayed base in them and touched up some spots that were bad too. next i cleared the trunk. i ended up spraying too heavy and it had some bad runs with all the raised parts on the trunk lid. I ended up sanding down the runs and re-sprayed the trunk in clear the next day.

I sanded the primed spots on the underside of the hood, then sprayed black base to cover. I also started the wet sanding of the hood on the top on Saturday. During to final sanding and drying of the hood, i noticed multiple cracks on the windshield side of the hood. one crack goes through to the bottom as well. So i will have to repair that this weekend. Thanks for checking out my progress.

i have been on hood duty since my last post. nothing but fixing cracks, and the underside hitting the cowl and radiator support. First was cracks on the top near the cowl. some cracks went through to the underside. I had to drill through all the crack, then decided to grind it all out and fiberglass it back.

after fiberglass

after filler/primer/sealer/wet sanding

Cont.
this is after wet sanding

then i painted the hood black base/clearcoat for the painter who wants to do the strips. i also painted the edges blue. i also painted the header panel black in the middle where the strips will be and blue for the rest of the panel.

now back to repairing the underside of the hood where the cracks went through

Then i noticed a crack in the door. i don't know how, but it went down to the metal in a couple of spots. Urgh.

I did put the hinges on the car.

Cont.
decided to work on interior while waiting on other stuff to dry or helpers. I cut a section out of both rear lower panel to clear the rollcage. I then epoxy'd in some metal to the curve i needed. this was cut from an 6" air duct.

I sanded the plastic to the metal on the edges and applied a little filler to fill the cracks. then i sprayed multiple layers of bed liner paint.

Next, i did fix issues on the underside of the hood where it was hitting the cowl and the radiator support. So to be sure of the fit, i took off the hinges and put in the 4 hood stop bolts and placed the hood on the car. The hood was hitting on the entire front of the cowl. it was also hitting on the drivers side of the radiator support and two other sections near the ribs where the hood bolts on. You will understand that with the pics. So i cut the entire rib down about 1/2".

Then instead of messy fiberglass, i epoxy'd the parts back together. this epoxy is for bonding metal and fiberglass parts together.

Cont.

I got to sand down the epoxy once it hardened. I will put filler on this week.

kept going back and forth to the interior. i recovered the rear seats. i only have a pic of the rear top seat.

i also repainted the windshield wiper motor.

I didn't get it painted in July as hoping. trying to get this hood straight. Once it isn't hitting the car anymore, i will paint all the areas blue and base the entire underside.

I also installed the led lights in the trunk panels. i still need to finish the wiring. i will post pics of that next time. Thanks for checking out my progress.
