Think I'm getting the hang of the brush on hammered silver lol Plus I've only used about a 1/2" out of the quart I bought. Goes much farther then the spray cans. Gonna fix a few thing in the house while this dries.
Then do the straps and hopefully get this installed
Finally got the straps n outside of sending unit cleaned and painted.
I believe when the sending unit dries...............I can install this baby
I will post a ready to install pic, hopefully in a little while.
ready to install....................
THE TANK IS IN!!!!!!!!
Thanks Kev
I got some 2 1/2" gas tank anti-squeek pad on ebay awhile back for $5.00. There was enough left, so I cut it in 1/2 and used it on the straps too.
Thats what is on the tank in this pic.

Well my vacation started off GREAT!!! Got out of bed this morning and my wifes tells me our income tax check is in the bank, and all I said was "very cool" and she said "don't even think about it" lmao. She was kidding ofcaurse lol. Gonna pay some bills but I will get some $$$ for the car.
So I went to the speed shop n ordered the lines for the hydraulic throwout bearing. Then got 2 new u-joints and a rear trans seal. Gonna get the u-joints put in n paint the drive shaft.
Won't have the lines till tomorrow afternoon though. Then the engine n trans can go in and STAY in
I can't wait to put my ceramic coated headers and exhaust on.
Got the u-joints installed. Now to get the shaft cleaned n painted.
Drive shaft all cleaned n paint, ready to install. I do believe that completes the preperation to install the engine n trans tomorrow.
Now I gotta find something else to work on tonight!!!

Got back from the speed shop alittle while ago with the line for the throwout bearing.
NOW I can get some work done
Hopefully latter I'll have some pics with the headers on!!!
Engine n trans goin in for the last(hopefully)time
All in and tight
Engine looks much more at home with lift plate off the intake!!!
Ceramic coated headers Summit
2 1/2" X-pipe kit Summit
2 1/2" Turbo mufflers Thanks geoman
Locking header bolts Ebay
Left side went in great.
The right side went in ok till I tried to put in some bolts and found the collector hit the floor pan. Gotta have a talk with the floor pan and a BFH.
Ya can see in the second pic it don't have to come up all that much. I have read on here that other people have had the same prob on the right side.
Got the right side header on no problem. Nothing a BFH and a touch up brush on the POR-15 can't handle on the floor pan lol
For those of you that have never used or don't know how these locking header bolts work, here it is. These bolts are the cats meow!!!
The first pic is the two pieces that go on the bolt head.
The 2nd pic is the bolt on n tight. Put all bolts on tight like normal.
The 3rd pic is the piece that locks on the bolt head n the header. Sometimes ya have to treak the bolt a tiny bit to get it to line up.
The last pic is the E-clip that slides into a slot on the bolt.
Thats it, those bolts will not come loose.
The headers are...................

Thanks Reb
Here is a pic of where I was beatin on the floor pan. The first few hits the POR-15 was ok, but it seemed like when the metal started to bend is when the POR-15 got damaged.
Had some family stuff to take care off but did get in the garage after my wife went to bed.
Started to mock up the X-pipe kit. After reading the instructions and finding out the X would be under the trans crossmember, I threw them right in the garbage lol
Flipped the pipes that come out of the headers and got the pipes to fit right in the bends in the crossmember, that placed the X after the crossmember.
So far so good, even the ground clearence loooks good. (OMG did I say that outloud)
Hopefully more to come tomorrow.
EDIT: I forgot to add that I added 2 pieces of 2 1/2" pipe to make it work like this. I will also add 2 more pieces before the mufflers.

Got the exhaust all up b tacked. Now to pull it down and finish welding.
Got it out without breaking any tack welds lol
Exhaust is finally done!!! I'll tell ya, that was alot harder then I thought it would be! But I think it came out pretty good.
Ground clearence looks awesome
She will get tail pipes. After I can drive her, she'll go to the local exhaust shop.
Got the drive shaft on too. I looked the underneath over pretty good, I think all that is left is run the gas line. Then I think the undrneath will be done!
But I think that is it for today. It's been a long day lol
Amazing Job! Really saved this car from rusting away!
