Here's where I am at after tonight.
I moved the left fender back 1/8" and redid the gaps, quarter to door and door to fender and the body line.
Tomorrow hopefully work on the right side.

Tonight went easier then I thought it would
Got the right fender moved forward 1/8". Tape measure says both fenders are now square with the car. Gotta wait till tomorrow to put the hood on when I have help.
The only small(hopefully)problem I now have is, when I tried to move the door forward, it would not move
The door is at it fullest travel forward. The door/quarter gap is 3/16" and the door/fender gap is 5/16".
Not sure what I will do about that yet, I wanna make sure the hood fits good first. I think it was Rick the mentioned welding a small rod to the front of the door, but that sounds like alot of body work. So I was thinking about taking the door n hinges off and on the cowl side of the hinge making a straight cut with the sawzall and welding them back togwther. that should buy me almost 1/8". But I will cross that bridge when the hood is all good.

Here is where I am at with the hood after about 3 hrs of tweaking.
You can see the only problem I got in the last 2 pics, where the hood meets the header panel on each side.
Tomorrow I might try and move the core suport back at the fender and move the header panel back alittle bit. That will miss aline the header panel and fender but maybe the headlight housing will cover it. We will see.
The hoood is closed and latched in all pics.

OMG that was tooooooooooooo easy lol (did I say that out loud?)
I just egged out the holes for header panel to fender mount.
I think the hood allignment is DONE!!!!!!!!!!
NOW ITS "MILLER TIME"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I put the headlight buckets on too.
I guess the bumper and lower valance would be next .
Here is a few sneak pics of my lower valance. It is repop, I got it on ebay from a place called Camaro Specialties about 2 yrs ago. Don't remember how much I paid for it but it was under $150.00. It even has the center spoiler for Z28 molded into it.
I need to drill all the mounting holes, but I think I can handle that lol.

Finally got the front bumper mounted.
Boy what a Beeeeeeeeeeetch it was to get the front bolts in, especially with the solid bushings in there. I used some string ran thru the holes and pulled the bolts up .
Not sure how far I will get on the lower valance today, but we will see.
Here's some pics of the lower valance install. It only has a few bolts in so far because it is kinda pissin me off lol
Hopefully more to come tomorrow.
Man that liscense plate holders gotta go!!! I do have a new one.

Just got back from Menards. I got different style U-nuts. The U-nut on the right is the style that came with the fender bolt kit I bought. Once they bend there is nothing to hold them in place. I got real tired real fast of them falling out. The one on the left has a clip inside it to hold it in place.
Thats it for today. This on/off the floor a 100 times is for the birds LOL
Got it lined up awhole lot better then it was yesterday. The back of the left side still needs to go in just a tad.
Allrighty then!!!
Got the back of the left side valance panel all lined up.
I think that COMPLETES the mock up of the nose
Gotta get one of those Carbide burr removing tools and start on the right door hinges (but maybe not till friday)

Just got in the garage.
It figures Sears did not have the one that online said they have in stock
not even a place on the shelf for it.
So I got this cheapo one for $2.80 Hopefully it will last more then 38 seconds lol Gonna find out soon
Didn't even get one hole done lol but I knew it wouldn't last.
Someplace around here has to sell them.
Thanks, I will let ya know
Got the hinge holes done. Ya prolly don't wanna know how but.............. I tried the cuttoff wheel and that was taken to much metal off. So, did ya ever try to drill a half of a hole? lol It's not easy, trust me. Maybe crude but it works. I will do some fill in welding when the hinges come off to clean n paint.
Now to put the door back on.
New right door gaps. 1/4" front n back
I love when a plan comes together!!!
Get the hood back on tomorrow to make sure it is all good.

This is a test. this is only a test. Had this been an actual paint job you would have been instructed to..........................well you get the idea lol
Been hangin out in the garage havin a few beers looking the car over to make sure it all looks good before I take the doors n nose back off.
Then I was bored and remembered I had an rx bottle of 2001 Viper yellow and had to test it out on the trunk lid to see if I like.
And I do LIKE it
What do ya think?
I did not strip the trunk lid just hit it with the da and some 120 grit for this test.
Amazing Job! Really saved this car from rusting away!
