Well, the game plan for the day was to clean up and paint the engine and transmission. But before we did that, I wanted to install the sway bar, and finish torquing down everything in the rear suspension. I also had to replace the metric bolts that held the caliper's on, because I used the wrong grade. Simple right? LOL
First off, I can't believe how close this is. It actually squishes the bushing.
Then, I moved on to the rear. I had a hard time getting all three of the front eye mount bolts to line up. I spent 2 hours there, and torqued them down to 35ftlbs. After that I replaced the rear caliper bolts, and cut off about 2 inches from the U-bolts, then I torqued them down to 50ftlbs. Then I torqued the rear shackle bolts down to 50ftlbs.
Finally at the end of the day, I pushed Cindy out of the carport and quickly washed her.
Maybe next time I will get to painting the engine and transmission.
Love the old camaros
