Thanks man. I know it doesn't look stock, but that's not the look im really going for anyway.
I'm waiting on my bolts to show up, so that kind of puts me at a stand still on the front suspension. I decided to paint some of the used parts that I bought. The seller of the intake manifold neglected to mention that he had painted it black. I also purchased a eldelbrock water pump. My old one worked just fine, but when I installed it originally, I was in a hurry, and didn't paint it. This time around, I decided that everything will kind of match.
The water pump was lookin pretty rough. So I washed both the intake and pump, with dish soap and water.
After that, I roughed up the surfaces with a scotch bright pad, rinsed again, and masked them off.
Then I painted them flat black.
I ran to Autozone to look for a fine thread (20) 7/16 tap. I couldn't find one by itself, so I bought a set instead. It set me back 20.00, but I figure its something that's good to have in a shop anyway.
Now, according to this site here:
Thread Chart
I need to use a 13/32 drill bit to drill out the stock holes in the spindles. After that, I can tap the holes to accept a 7/16 fine thread bolt. That's the plan for tomorrow.
Also, I added a table of contents to the beginning of Cindy's thread. That way its easier to find important information.
Love the old camaros
