So things appear to be on schedule so after I get the "for sure" on a few things tomorrow, I'm gonna start on pulling this NPI 2V from its 13yr resting place and shift some parts over to the Teksid. Figured i'd post a pic of the car.

Well I started pulling the NPI today. Pulled exhaust, driveshaft, radiator/fan, intake and a few other things. But around 2pm to 6pm here it's just to hot. So i'll split up the work and use the morning hours to do it.

Another long day in the sun. My NPI is sittin ready to come out. When it's cooler in the morning, out she comes. I'll take a few more pics tomorrow and then post'em. P.S. Alright, she's out. I'd say it took me about 14 hours give or take to pull it by myself in a "driveway" with hand tools. I'm sure I could've cut that in half if i'd been able to do it at school/in a shop w/lift ect. I decided to take the engine out seperate from the trans because the hoist I got from HFreight doesn't have a long enough reach with the lifting arm. I'm going to have to box it back up and swap it out for the bigger one before I drop the new engine in. All in all it was a verry simple job. We're lucky these cars are so easy to work on. So between now and Friday I can concentrate on cleaning/painting some of the parts that will switch over to the new engine, cam covers, timing cover ect. I'm going to try and clean up the engine bay also, its a 125K's worth of grease and grime. I was impressed though when I looked down into the intake ports of the NPI heads with my mini mag that they look verry nice and clean, no oil leaks from the guides/seals that I could see. So here's some pics of the ordeal. Nothing spectacular but we all like pics.

Ya I've got some, it's the same ones that do a/c lines right. Didn't have to disconnect'em just flipped the assembly over and they were completely out of the way. I liked the books way to depressurize the fuel system, unplug the enertia switch and run it for a few seconds till it dies. Quick and easy. I took the hoist back and got the 2 ton one. It's about 8" longer on top so that will help on install. Got the NPI up on an engine stand to. I need to decide if i'm gonna pait the cam covers or not. I like the grey/cast aluminum color for the covers. Maybe leave the lines on top black. I don't know. What kind of paint has to be used for those so that it doesn't peal/flake off? Do you have to primer first? Hopefully MASTEROFTHEPUPPETS will be around for the install. Hint Hint.
