I moved my car over to a buddies....he has a lift!!! And we started the 6.1L removal....which I sold full up to a shop in Arizona. He's gonna be digging the new found power!! I recieved my 392 12/18/09 and uncrated it and installed the 6.1L into the crate....whith hopes of shipping it out today!! Here's a few Pics:
Put'en the 6.1L into the crate!
Now Getting The Engine Bay Ready the 392 and Blower
Here I am....Chomping at the bit messing with the new 392.....wish My CAM was here and I could start the install of the motor....so I can get to that blower!!!
12/26/09
Well,
Here's some updates. I spent the last month....with what little spare time I get between work and Family.....polishing some parts on the Techco SC! I still need to port the Throttle tube for a 90mm T-Body. I hope to finish that Sunday. Here's my fuel delivery system!
12/30/09
Well,
Found a few more spare hours.....So I polished my 90mm Arrington Throttle Body, Match ported the the Techco inlet tube to the T-Body and got everything re-assembled.
Just waiting on the cam as well as the head rework from Inertia Motorsports!
1/28/10
Well after waiting for parts (HHP CAM) We finally got the motor back together and Intalled it in th car lastnight!!!! I swap fluids in the Blower this morning....in hopes of getting it installed tonight!!! My hopes are to have the car running this sunday, but I'll be short the CAI I'd like to have .....I'm having trouble getting ahold of Dyno Steve! Steve....Help a brutha Out!!
If all goes well...I hope to be deep into tuning by the 5th of feb.
1/30/10
Well,
With Hi hopes I woke up ealry this Saturday and headed to my buddies shop to finish the install of my Tehco blower and it quickly turned to crap!
A little back ground....my buddy called me at work mid Friday...and said my Crank, Cam, Oil Temp and Water Temp sensors were the wrong ones. It seems dodge swapt sensor vendors in June of '08! After calling all over and finally finding some in Oregon....we put them on next day delivery....with the weekend that means Monday. I wasn't happy with that....since this was my first weekend off in 8 weeks...I really wanted to get the car back together. A good buddy offered up his sensors out of his New Inertia 426 we just took delivery of....so the smile was back on my face!!!
I rolled down and pulled them....made my list of to do's for Saturday...and hung out with my family who have really been missing me! With in the first 5 minutes at the shop...it turns out the sonsors Stu installed were the wrong ones as well....the day was shot!! I couldn't install the blower do to the water sensor is hidden behind the blower snot!!!! I hope monday is a better day!!
Sorry fellas....no sweet pics or sound clips!
2/26/10
" It's Alive!!!" Yeah, Finally got all the missing pieces and made my last mod's to fit everything!! I started the car lastnight.....It purr's....I'm pretty stoked!! I've gotta put the front end back on the car and start some Data logs this weekend.....More to come!
2/28/10
Here's Some Pics with the 392 and Techco Installed. I'll be a week or two....before I have Performance Data....still busy data logging and working with Russ!
3/5/10
Updates:
I haven't hit the drums yet...I've been working with Russ Anema via e-mail. Its working out quite well!! I'm still running the 3.125" and 5" pulleys to get a solid tune. My OBDII and Zeitronix data logs are capturing all the needed data and Russ has been Johnny on the spot.....kicking me back tunes! I have (3) new iterations to try out this weekend....which should put me ready to play the pulley game.
The motor's running perfectly....pulling 5-6 PSI......with lots of power!
G.T.
3/12/10
Update:
Well, the weather here sucks....but I've managed to test tunes for about a week and have solidified my 6 PSI no meth tune!! Yeah....pretty Jazzed!
I've noticed at peek boost (6psi) I'm dropping 10 PSI of fuel pressure at the rails....not affecting my AFR's but none the less. I'm double checking my Kenne Bell BAP opperations, but it looks like I'll be reworking the fuel delivery system to move to my next boost level!!
It's all good though....I still have plenty of RND time before the season starts!
G
3/21/10
The Stage 3 of my build is working just as planned! The car is build great power and is pretty street-able. I still have yet to hit the drums.....I've been tuning on the street with all my sensors....and the tune is pretty much spot on. I still have (1) code that's giving me some trouble P2173 Throttle Actuator...a catch all code! Russ has another tune for me to try....that might take care of it!!
With my street tire....or my old Dr's.....I could pretty much roast the tires as far or whenever I wanted to....I'm still only pushing 5 PSI....and Peak about 6 PSI. During a Freeway cruise at 50....I was able to bark the tires....with a stab of the throttle!!
I'm in the process of reworking my fuel delivery system, Because I'm dropping 10 PSI fuel pressure at the rails when I Peak at 6 PSI boost....even with the Kenne Bell BAP turned all the way up!! It's not affecting my AFR's, but I have some more pulley's waiting to be installed.....as well as my Meth injection kit....that's just itching for me to be turned on!!!
I'm running the NEw Nitto NT05R's 315x35x20's.....Its a nice compound!!! I gave them a good heat up lastnight.....and even on Street Blacktop (Not Track Prep'ed) I was able to hook up.....and it felt GOOOOOOOOOD!
I'm only gona run 5 PSI with no meth on April....Then Swap some pulley's...Tune on the street to get a solid tune......Then finally go hit the drums and tune for the meth! I'm getting close!!!
3/25/10
Update:
Well, the 5-6 pasi tuning is just about wrapped up!! I'm gona gather another 6 WOT runs to finalize the HP end at this PSI. I had (1) nagging code.....That Russ resolved and all is good! The car runs great and is making good power.
I'm Gona hit the Bremerton Test N Tune April 2nd to find the 1/4 mile E/T at this level......and have some fun!! Then, Back to the garage to Install the new fuel delivery system, Swap the pulleys, test fire the Meth Kit. I'll tune on the street again with the Help of Russ Anema ... and make a solid tune at the new PSI level.....then head to the Dyno to solidify it and tune for the meth!
Nothing but Smiles Right Now!!
G.T.
5/10/10
Well,
Finally made it to the track to test out my 5 psi / No Meth set-up. the Da's hovered around 243 most of the day. I ran 92 Octane at 4400 Lbs with 20" Nitto NT05R's Dr's (315's on 9" wheel @ 20 PSi). I'm still running abit fat at WOT....about 10.3-10.5 AFR and also haven't put the car on the drums yet...Russ and I tuned the car on the streets. The car ran flawless....but I'm glad the new tranny is almost here!!!
I got (4) runs in...all I needed to close the book at 5 Psi... All (4) runs were 11.44x's @ 118.95x MPH with 1.59x 60'. Yeah....very consistant!!!
So, I just recieved my fuel delivery upgrade...pretty stoked to install it!! As soon as I have the fuel pressure where I want it...I'll be slapping on 4-5 more PSI and tune for the meth injection. I'll tune the meth...on the drums, so I can get some dyno numbers to tie with my E/T's
All is good here in Washington State!! The weekend track event was the season opener for the Pac N West Car Club Challenge....and we opened the Season with 17 Members on the Mopar Drag Team.....We're shooting for 1st place this season!
6/10/10
Well,
The weather still sucks here. The last (2) track events have been rained out. I've been busy with my buddies build....so I haven't finished my mods needed to up my boost, but I did get the last of the items I wanted for the engine....installed!!! My buddy really wanted my Techco Strut tower brace....so he purchased me the Drake Muscle Brace and had it polished...Its a nice kit and well thought out!! Along with that...I got my Moroso sheet metal Radiator & Steering Res installed and located my Labonte Water/Meth Injection brain. All is good! We have a few more items to finish on my buddies build:
http://www.challengertalk.com/forums/527937-post1.html Then I can work my cooling fan mods to make room for bigger LWR Pulley...Yeah...Up'en the boost!
8/27/10
I've spent the last 2 weeks working fuel delivery mods for my current 12.5 PSI Pulley set-up. I had been running the Arrington twin 255 LPH walbro fuel pump set-up with -6 Braided line out of the tank and #47 Injectors. which got me thru my 5 PSI set-up and most of the way thru my 12 PSI. During tuning of the 12 PSI set-up I noticed a 13 PSI drop in fuel pressure above 4800 RPM.Minus the 12 PSI positive Boost..put me at #35 PSI Flow thru the injectors at WOT. Not a deadly issue..I could fool the system by running #80 Injectors and a great deal of tuning, but I wanted a good Fuel Base incase I up the PSI more or swap for a bigger motor. So, I went to town to accomplish 60 PSI +.thru my entire power band. 1st Off I moded the Arrington Fuel Adapter from both pumps over to the Filter Bucket. Then I Moded the Filter Bucket for a -6 Braided External Return line and defeated the factory 60 PSI pop off Valve. After that I mounted an Aeromotive Boost Ref. Fuel Pressure Regulator in the trunk running -6 Braided lines from Tank to FPR. I went with -8 Braided main fuel line from FPR to the injector rails. Once I had that all solid and looking sweet.I re-installed my Adjustable KB Boosta Pump and set it half way thru its voltage ramp. I didn't have time lastnight to data log my fuel pressure.I just took the car for a quick squirt down the freeway to watch my AFR's. I started this mod with my AFR's spiking to 13.5 to 14.0 @ 6K RPMs as the fuel pressure dropped and now my AFR's are in the 9's and lower!!!! Yeah.picked up over 4 points..plenty of fuel now to do as I please!!! I'll data log today and should have a very solid tune by sometime tonight..Its time to throw the timing back in and adjust the tune!!! The Rocket is back on the Road!!
I'm Pretty Stoked!!

KB BAP? Well, My first install of the blower....I used the KB bap thru tuning and final tunes as well as 1/4 times. I installed to Inline Sensors at my fuel rails so I could monitor and Data Log Fuel Pressures thru my Zietronix....as I continue to Mod. No one was doing anything with fuel delivery yet. Later...I swaped to the Arrington Fuel Bucket and loaned my BAP out to a buddy while he worked thru some of his issues N/A. All was good with the Fuel Bucket till I Up'ed the boost....reading 10-12 PSI Boost and lossing 13 PSI Fuel Pressure. I was looking to see how far I could take the Techco Injectors as well as have room to grow! My Buddy was done with my BAP.....So I reinstalled it and played with the voltage settings while logging FP....pretty cool! After figuring out just how much fuel PSI I could get with the BAP....If I ever needed it....I mapped out my fuel Line and FPR mod's to make it soild without the BAP. So, here I am now.....all the fuel I need off the pumps....with my BAP back up. As it stands right now...I wont need the BAP....But its there and ready with just a flip of the switch!
Wireing? Still running the factory harness. No Issues and No Power spikes.
10/2/10
4450 Lbs, 92 Octane, 20" wheels all the way around with 20" Dr's, No meth and 8 PSI
Well, finally made it to the track....and the weather was dry!! I'm still leaving a bit at the table with my tuning (Russ is keeping it quite safe)...all my tuning has been done on the streets, I'm doing all the data aquisition and Russ Anema down in cali is dialing it in. I still have some timing I can add, but I want to get some more hardware to monitor knock first.
I'm guesing I'm gona have to give up on the 20" Dr's!!They worked killer thru my 5 PSI set-up but I never got them to hook in the 4 runs I got this friday. Also, Due to the lack of ROLL BAR.....I had to hit the brakes and coasted at the 1/8 mark. I was a bit bummed....but it was awesome killing all the rides next to me....up intill the 1/8 mile mark!!!
Best Run Of The Day:
1/8 Mile 6.658 @ 103.47 MPH Hit the brakes and coasted to a 1/4 mile of 11.499 @ 86.22 MPH
Starting plan B for traction....and hope to hit an event in Oregon soon!
10/31/10
Ok,
Here's the break down of build vers's E/T. I'm still lacking HP numbers for the Blower install and boost levels....I'll get that soon! My 10 PSI E/T is off by 4-6 tenths.....Traction issues.....But I'll have the firmly planted by next year and I'll come back and Update this entry! I'd like to Thanks a very good Buddy of mine for truly being the best friend you can imagine....Always there with a helping hand....and when Funds were running short....He cracked his own wallet to help me finish what I had on the drawing Board!!!
I thank you Greatly.......Allen Hess!!
You'll be seeing lots of his car in 2011!!!

Well,
I just started my winter Mods for the 2011 season. The first mod was injector swap to meet my new base fuel needs. I ran the Kit Techco's (G302's) all the way up thru 10 PSI with the aid of the Boost Ref Fuel Pressure Reg. There was still enough headroom to run it up to 12 PSI on 92 octane.
I'm swapping out for some Ford Lu80's and to do so...I needed to mod my fuel rail stands to allow for the .500" longer length!! Here's some pics for all the Techco boys!
Upper:
-Kit Techco Rail Stand
Lower:
- Modified Techco Stand
Finished Stand ready for Lu80 Injectors:
12/24/10
Just a little update,
Russ nailed the the tunning first time out!! I swapped my G302 injectors pushing 10 PSI on the blower....for some Lu80's and the starter tune he scaled was nuts on....I mean perfect!!! I have a little driving around to do (Get about 200 Miles) on the tune and then I'll grab some more data to make sure its perfect for 92 octane.
Russ also sent me (2) Ethanol starter tunes (e75 and e85). Once I get my ethanol contect sensor installed......It will be time to gather some data and perfect my alternative fuel (Flex Fuel) tunes. With the sensor in place....I can manually mix my own Ethanol percentages.....say e95 if I wish.....I'm pretty stoked!!!
Here's a few pics of my fuel stuff and my new Track Wheels!! Thanks Charles....Love the wheels!!

Well,
Finally got to installing the Zeitronix e85 Content sensor and the readout gauge. I installed the gauge in the glove box....you only need to check it after a fill up or if you're adding some ethanol to the mix....to bring the E content % up.
I also wanted to add some vents to the trunk area as well as make getting to the (2) dif bolts that are a PITA to get to.....muche easier!! I located (2) 2.5" removeable vents...inline with the dif bolts.

Well,
Finally got done with the Roll Bar. Note to self....never pre-pay!!! The bar came out sweet....just as I wanted it, but the Fab shop had my car for 3 months!!! Yeah I know....I tried to stay calm thur most of the time but towards the end...I was ready to skin somone! Once i got in my car...all was good!!!
I had 1/2 tank of 92 octane in it and decided to run it off so I could do my first e85 swap when I ran into a blower issue. Looks like I'll be tearing the Techco down!! Its been a painful month trying to locate the needed details and I have to Give a GIANT Thanks to CAM for helping me with my hunt......Its gona suck if I miss this years race season.....I just hope in the end....We can find the parts and I can get my car back on the road. I've only had 1 hours worth of fun...since October of 2010!!
Here's a few Pics:

Well,
Other than a few close buddies who knew my pain...It was quiet the un-eventful race season last year. I just got my roll bar in and all the mods done to run e85 when I lost a main bearing in my Techco!! Holly Crap....I spend 6 months hunting and having parts built!! I was just about to tear mine down....when I came across a sweet deal on a used blower!! Actually I came across it twice!! I lost out the first time...but helped the new owner with hid install. HE must have felt sorry for me...cause a couple months later....he called and offered it to me and I snapped it up!!
I put in 1100 hours of O/T last year....so I only had 3 days during my x-mass break to tear mine down, swap some of my parts....and install it!
All is good again.....ready for a much better 2012!!
HEre's the blower as recieved...plenty of blue paint removal!!
Here it is after new paint:

All is well with the car...Did a ton of car shows and laid a ton of black marks on the road!! Pushing 14 psi thru it and loven it. I haven't hit the track...I've got two girls on their 2nd year of college....can't afford to break anything right now. I'll get some pics up soon!
We have 30K on the turbo install on our 2011 Jeep Wrangler JKU...Pushing 9 PSI....It's FN killer! I just thru some 4.56 gears in it...Its a kick butt tow rig now for camping....just got a Jaco Baja 10Y trailer for our youngest two and Summer fun!
Also...Been busy with my 1970 Challenger project.....408 Stroker, 4 speed and 3.91 sure grip.....Its been fun turning a wrench on a gen 1 again.
