update 3 of this week and the last i think
well today i started a little later on the mini and started with making another 4 intergrips so i now have 5 of them and they cost me nothing only scrap from what i have laying around my garage. Once that was done i clamped in the floor half fully and started tacking it all the way along about an inch or so apart i found that tacking in the tunnel part wich was slightly upside down imposible and i will be welding this part from the inside that is almost flat i never want to weld upsidedown
then welded the rear half in fully this is the worst bit for me as i hate cleaning up the long welds i much prefer the smaller patches
and the inside
and then all cleaned off
i see no point in grinding flush as it will be covered in stonechip and carpet anyway. hopefully i will get the front part all cleaned off over the weekend then do the doorstepp edge plug welds and then move on to the boot i can almost see light at the end of the tunel. In other news i had a delivery from smiffys bit most of the nuts and bolts to build up the front subby will be getting the rest for the front and rear next week not fitting any more mild steel to this car it will all be stainless as much as possible
thats all for now cut today short i could not take anymore grinding
Wow what a build!
