update 2 of this week
so started today with making up one of the two needed patches to the storage bin it was a small piece with two folds on the outside edges once made it was tacked in place
and then fully welded in the penetration was a little dissapointing today it is strong but will need filling to make flush
then it was on to the last part of the bin this one was going to be a pain as it needed a curve putting back in
so i started with a piece of steel
then clamped on my angle iron
and knocked the edge over about half way doing a little at a time
then the lip was trimmed down until the part fitted and then it was tacked in place
and then fully welded making sure i had good penatration was imprtant for this one as i wanted it right the first time and not have to add bits on the underside when grinding
then using a mix of flap disc and 1mm cutting disc on the grinder and air cut off tool it was very carfully ground flush and i was left with this
only one of the welds on top needed flatting off so the inner sill could sit flat on it
after that it was time to trail fit my herritage floor half it was such a nice fit i used a bolt throught the old seat mounting hole and through the new and clamps alont the step edge it was then marked and cut throught both floors to ensure a perfect fit
and here it is all clamped up ready for welding i just need to make up five or so more intergrip things
that should be done tomorrow but i need to prep the floor first filling in all the drain holes and making the inner sill stiffner and being stupid i threw out the old bit of sill with the seatbelt nut on it and the scrap man came today so ill need a new nut and plate before the outer sill goes on
Wow what a build!
