This morning I took the valves out one by one. Not much rust to report, no hardened seats so in due course I will get that done.

Hap thanks for the Info. Here are some pictures of the markings, in the A series identification book I have it told me it was a Mk 3 Cooper S head, which has the 12G940 casting.

Here they are. Incase it is not clear the one with the white out is looking in through the port at an inlet guide. The exhaust guides are flush.
