Today I got the gearbox stripped and cleaned and picked up the cylinder head and crank from the machine shop. Just waiting on the pistons to arrive before they can bore the block.

I got the block painted and new core plugs fitted

Then the crank and pistons were fitted

And fitted the cylinder head

Small update, all my nuts and bolts finally came back from the zinc platers, so I can crack on with finishing the engine off

Well the engine is in! Still lots more to do but at least it's in the car, that's another hurdle completed. Also I fitted the wipers and picked up some cooper rims, so I might fit these as opposed to the alloys as they look a bit more retro!

I got the gear linkage all stopped and cleaned and fitted today, along with the exhaust system. I fitted some silver foil tape on the underside of the tunnel to help stop the floor and battery cable from getting too hot.

Got most of the engine bay finished off today, master cylinders, radiator, clutch etc all done

Took the van for mot the other day, it passed! Whoop
