Bonnet trim stud plate trick
Compliments of warrenmudd @ mgexp.com

Making great progress bolting on the big bin of parts after paint, and discovered a neat trick to get the stud plates on the bonnet chrome trim strip to behave. I cut a small piece of dense foam strip (adhesive on one side) and attached it to the stud plate. Then slide the stud plate into the chrome strip and position it to its approximate location along the strip. The foam strip holds the stud plate in place while I fumble around putting all of the small lock washers and nuts on.
