Gonna be about a month before i have anything substantial to share. This project is going to take quite some time.
.....I'll be back

Not much yet. Still in the prelims. I"ve been looking at the possibility of titling the car in NJ as a "collector car" (not historic, collector). In my home state of Fl, emissions and inspection is not an issue. I am however going to be working in NJ for at least a year or two. Possibly more. I've been up here for awhile, and have already surrendered my Fl DL.
Apparantly, even NJ (as strict as they are) they make exceptions for limited production vehicles that are not yet 25 yrs old and will be driven less than 3k miles per year. I would still have to sport the (utterly pointless) front plate, but I found the solution for that. This:
Titling the thing as a collector car would make me 100% exempt from emissions check and save me a bunch on NJ (astronomical) car insurance.
If it doesn't work out, I'll just use it as a track car until my work in NJ is done and I return to the Sunshine State.
I've also been investigating the electrical system and like other cars that are 10 yrs old, it seems pretty un-complicated. It would be relatively simple to have an electronic interface made, so that all the orriginal gauges and A/C controls work with the new setup.
Whether or not NRE is able to preserve the AWD, we are going to need a wider track. Externally, this will be the only feature that might look any different than any other Diablo 6.0 (except the 6.0 badges.. another dilemma ... keep, ditch, or replace with what?)
Chapel suggested these Compomotives, which are great, except they only come in 17 I think. Wheels.. another dilemma.
I'm going to need another week or two with the car. Then Tom Nelson will take delivery of it (it'll take another week to get to him). I will let you know his initial assesment.
Any more suggestions on wheels? I like Speedline Corse
Looking for something that is not blingy and looks like it belongs on the car.
Some monoblock wheels in silver, like the speedlines. Perhaps OZ's or something?
Yeah, diggin them for sure. I like the strictly business look
something concave would be nice too
Not sure how wide Advan RS wheels come, but I think they'd look good
I'll try to move things along, so I can give you guys a proper update and not these weak posts. In the meantime, I'm open to ideas on the latest dilemmas: wheels and what to do with the badges.
If anyone has any experience getting the NJ collector plate, I'd appreciate some advice. I think the car will make the production number cutoff, but not sure. Also, I've been having trouble obtaining an official letter on Lamboghini letterhead stating actual production #'s. Gonna brush up on my Italian and call Bolognia Italy
Who doesn’t love a Lambo? ?
