Got some parts sandblasted for the front of the engine. All these parst will be gloss black, the alternator hammered silver, all around the aluminum water pump.

Parts finally dry enough to handle lol
Power steering is next, but I need to solder on the return hose fitting.

Got the pump mocked up to make sure which way the return nipple faces.
Then I saw a problem I completly forgot about I do not have the factory bracket that mounts to the front header bolt and the back of the pump for support. I custmized that bracket to work with the headers too, I left it on the pump in the race car when I sold it.
So.................I will need another one to customize. Anyone got one???
Suppose to rain on n off all weekend, maybe I'll see if I can make it to the boneyard

Ok, got the return nipple soldered back on. Thought I was doin water pipes in the kitchen lol

The power steering pump it turning into a real PITA, but I kew it would because I am going from one set of brackets(that I can't get)to the other style set. Ya know the one where the pump bolts to the water pimp ear and the other that bolts thru the water pump ear. Gotta go get a belt to line everything up before I weld the last bracket.
The first pic is the brakcets I got form the boneyard, the left bracket is not even close. The 2nd pic, I will use the bottom piece. Plus I'll use the brackets that came with the pump. Those are the ones that bolt thru the water pump ear.

Allrighty then
Got the mock up done. I ended up cutting the one bracket to get it to line up. It is even adjustable lol
Now to take it back apart, finish welding and grinding. Then some paint and hopefully put it together latter. If not, tomorrow then.

The power steering pump is.........
DONE!!!

The more I look at the top alternator bracket, the more I don't like it! I had to shim between the alternator n the bracket to get the mounting hole on the intake to line up. I've got a couple other brackets, I'll see if one of them lines up better. If not, more cutting and welding lol

The alternator is mounted to the water pump and head with stock brackets. The pullies line up perfect. It's just that top bracket
I thought about using those rod ends, but ya need left n right hand threads to make it adjustable for belt tension.
I'm gonna try and cut the top bracket where I have it marked to make it look good and weld an ear on for the mounting bolt.

Ok, got it lined up MUCH better! Only got 2 washer shims between the top bracket and alternator now, that I can live with. Got the ear made to weld on to the top bracket.
After welding n grinding, then fresh paint.............finish pics letter

Waiting for paint to dry............................

The front of the engine is.........................
done..............finished...........complete

Alternator bracket came out pretty good. Looks factory to me lol
The big brown truck is suppose to be here tomorrow, so maybe I can start some wiring

Got some stuff in the mail n UPS today. I got the front brake hoses, banjo bolts n washers for the calipers, the solenoid relocation kit and gauge kit.
Already got the hoses installed, had to make sure they were all good
The frame brackets for the hoses worked out great. Thanks Tommy(aka 76Lemanster)
I really like those 2 5/8" gauges from Summit and they were on sale for $17.95.

Now to decide where on the firewall to put that solenoid.

Got the solenoid where I want it. I did some drawing to kinda see where the wires will run. The main positive will come along the frame from the trunk and up to the left side of the solenoid, then wires in a loom go up to under the cowl lip to the right to feed the rest of the car. The right side of solenoid willl go down to the starter.

Thats about it for today. 24 comes on in 20 mins.

While waiting for the brakes to gravity bleed themselves, I started to strip the core support. I figure the core support n radiator are next.
