Got my control arms down from the attic. Boy it's cold up there lol but thats a good thing.
Prolly wait till tomorrow to start taking them apart for cleaning. They will go in the sandblasting cabinet I worked all weekend so I am kinda tired. But 2 more days of work, then I get 5 days off for christmas

Didn't get much done tonight, my silverado said this morning "I ain't going anywhere without a new battery" LOL so I got a new battery after work and put it in.
Got the upper arms stripped. The ball joints are new and the shafts are like new The bushings where new GM ones so they are going in the circular file and getting new polys. I also got new GM rubber bumpers.

I've been working cleaning one control arm for almost 3 hrs, ya I said one for 3 hrs here is the pics of what I have done, and not done yet.
It shouldnt take 3hrs to clean one arm should it??????????????????? The arms got the same undercoating on it the frame did and that came off pretty easy. I am doing the same thing, scrapper with propane torch then wire wheel then sandblast cabinet.
Then I got to thinkin, maybe its time for new media for the blasting cabinet so, I'll get a new bag of black blast from menards in the morning and see what happens, or would silica sand work better in the canbinet??? Who knows, right now I am ready to have about 14 beers and think about it LMAO.
Maybe I just needed to vent alittle

Finally got one arm cleaned and primed. I think the new media in the blasting cabinet helped out. I tried mineral spirits on the next arm and it seemed it softened up the undercoating alittle bit. Maybe latter on I can get up some pics of all the arms primed and painted, unless the chassis black shows up then I might take a break from the arms and get the subframe finished up
I got 3 of the 4 arms cleaned n primed. Guess thats ok for today. Hopefully more to come tomorrow, No wait....................I mean more to come friday LOL

Before ya all start busting my b@lls LOL for working on the car on Christmas let me tell ya how my Christmas day went with the family...............
Me n the wife went to my daughters early
and had breakfest with both daughters, all the grandkids and my son-in-law. Exchanged peresents and hung out there for awhile.
Then this afternoon we picked up my mother-in-law and went to my sister-in-laws for dinner. Was a great day with all the family
Me n the wife got home a couple hrs ago, nothin else to do so my wife said it was ok for me to go n finish the last CA.
All in all a GREAT Christmas day

Finally got all 4 CA's painted hammered silver and the lower ball joints back in. Now just gotta put in the upper ball joints and rubber bumpers and wait till all my bushings get here but I'm sure I'll find something to do in the mean time LOL
I love when a plan comes together
The rubber bumpers were a piece of cake lol, I just sprayed some PBblaster on the lips and eased them thru the slots with a pair of channel locks.
Did someone say its MILLER TIME???
Last pic for tonight
Jeeeeeeeeeeez, what am I gonna do tomorrow LOL

Got most of the steering painted, just gotta finish the idler arm then start taking the spindles apart.
Oh my *^$)#@$ god!!! the spindles and calipers got that black chit/undercoating/paint whatevr it is on them toooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the up side is the calipers, rotors and pads are new
Sorry guys just needed to vent lol
Ok....................... time to start blasting
Did I hear someone say "IT'S MILLER TIME" I thought so
Got one spindle blasted n primed. I'll wait to put the hammered silver on till I drill n tap the one bolt that broke for the dust shield. Then I find out by the date codes that I have one original spindle and one from a 78. One date code is 1 6 4 and the other is 1 5 8. She is not a 1000 point show car so it's no biggie to me lol

Got the Eastwood chassis black on the subframe and I decided to do the cowl too, I think I want the cowl, inner fenders and core support to match. The firewall will be the same yellow as the car.
Man this paint is AWESOME!!! Looks great and sprays nice. I put the 1.4 tip in my gun and had no problems
Call me crazy/impatient but I HAD to bolt on something hammered silver to see how it looks. I looooooooooooove it
Got the last spindle and both shields cleaned n primed.
I am goona try the shields gloss back and see how they look on the spindles.
I think these are gonna look awsome on the spindles, but we won't see that till tomorrow
Sure hope I get some bushings in a timely manor LOL I am running out of room for clean parts.
