Here is a couple pics of rear frame rail piece I will hopefully be fixing tomorow
donor piece
sandblasted , primed and ready to install
got the old frame piece cut out tonight and work more on it tomorrow. I didnt think it needed a brace because the quarter panel and rocker panel are still solid but I did just for good measure. When I cut thru the frame rail nothing shifted and the saw blade did not bind so that is a good thing. lol. I did not change the whole spring pocket not to change my wheelbase. I measured from the one screw hole circled in red in the pics that mounts the spring pocket. measured from center of hole to mark on floor pan and also to the rocker lip, this way donor piece goes to where it belongs. When removing old piece I cut right next to the lip the floor pan welds to then made 2 cuts as square as I could with a sawzall front and rear of old piece just alittle bit smaller then donor piece. I will trim the donor piece very little at a time till it fits nice and the measurments are good.
installed brace
out with the old
Amazing Job! Really saved this car from rusting away!
