I replaced all the lines. There are 3 lines.
A high psi from pump to hydroboost.
A high psi from hydroboost to steering box.
A low psi from steering box to pump. The hydroboost low psi return intercepts this line.

I suppose you could run this through a cooler if you wanted.

I believe hydroboost was originally designed for diesel engines. Diesel engines have a hard time making vacuum for a conventional brake booster. My engine doesn't make very good vacuum at idle, so I thought I would give hydroboost a try. I haven't talked to anyone that doesn't like hydroboost once it's installed. I believe it makes something like 1100 psi or something.

If you google it you can find out all sorts of info. Plus several people on this site have done the conversion. You'll need an adapter plate for the firewall too.

I didn't have a lot of extra time today, so I decided to clean up my rear seats. I bought these seats a number of years ago at a junk yard. I used to have a 1980 Camaro and switched the interior to black. Anywho, here's what they looked like when I started.

And here's what they look like afterward.

I cleaned them up using a magic eraser. It worked awesome! I bought a two pack of extra strength, and scrubbed the seats down. The seats look even better in person. Not show quality, but neither is the car. LOL

The guy that had Cindy before me painted the interior tan. It was originally black. So I bought some "Krud Kleener". It claims it can remove graffiti. I forgot to take a before shot, but here is a shot in between.

As you can see it works, okay. I am going to try soaking the panels a bit more and see if I can get anymore paint off. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to remove the paint? I could just ry repainting them.. I'm not sure yet...

I went ahead and put the seats in Cindy. They're not fastened down, because I haven't bought carpet yet.

Here is that after shot of the hydroboost installed. I need to get a different upper radiator hose. The one I have isn't meant for an A/C car. (Obviously)

One last question for you guys. Does anyone know how to attach this:

To this:

My car didn't have it attached when I bought it. I don't see a spot to mount two bolts to the inner fender. Is this overflow even from the right year Camaro? I must be missing something.

Yup. Everything's fine. I've just been a bit distracted.

I decided to put my front shocks on today. They're a bit of a pain because when I jack up the front of the car and let the suspension droop, they aren't long enough. So I used another jack to jack the lower A-arm up so I could connect the shocks.

The first problem I ran into was the crappy keyed lug nuts I bought from Autozone. I have only torqued them down 3 or 4 times. I was always careful, and they still stripped out. Its just a crappy design.

My solution? Get the closest size socket you can find, and beat it on the keyed nut. This is basically how thieves steal your wheels anyway.

You have to start off easy, but once it starts to bite, beat it on there good! Then very carefully loosen the nut.

Repeat for the other wheel.

The odd part was it didn't really do that much damage to the socket. I was expecting it to destroy it. Oh well!

When I finally got my wheel off, I discovered what my grinding noise coming from the front passenger tire was. Weird how its only this wheel though. It's made all the clearance it needs at this point. I may just go over the calipers a bit with a grinder, and then repaint them.

WooHoo! Shocks are installed. You can see how they are now holding the weights of the compressed spring. I talked to Dave about this, and he said it was okay. It is very unlikely that they would be doing this for any extended length of time.

I also bought a shim pack from Harbor Freight for 6.00. I gave myself a very rough alignment. It's not perfect at all, but much better than no shims! It looks *tons* better! Good enough to drive me to the shop.
