I'm not sure, I didn't do it all in one day. I worked on it a little bit here and there. Plus, I kind of have ADD when it comes to projects. I start one thing, then move to the next, then something else, and maybe back to the original thing! LOL

I put on a second coat today. I still have a few spots to touch up. Also, took off the masking tape and paper.

I started modifying my spindles today.
First I mocked up where the brackets go.

The two stock holes that will be used to mount the caliper mounting bracket need to be modified.

The ears that protrude to form a "C" shape need to be removed to facilitate the installation of the caliper. Using the caliper mounting bracket as a template, mark two cut marks on the spindle. Cut away as little as necessary from the "C" shape. This can be easily done with a saws all, grinder with cut off wheel, or milled off. I even think you could use a hack saw if you wanted to take the time to do it.

I used a Sharpie Marker, you can barely see it in the picture.

Then, I used a metal band saw, and a grinder with a cut off wheel, to make the cuts. Be careful!

Here you can see the difference between a stock spindle(left), and a modified spindle(right).

Repeat for the other side.

...and here are all the pieces I cut off.

That's when I ran out of time. Next, I will take a grinder and grind down all the sharp edges. You would want to do this to help prevent stress cracks from forming.
