What’s up everyone! I’m getting pretty close wrapping up the floor boards with @soundshield on #camilathe68cougar. To get the write cuts I’ve been making templates from the left over backing paper to cut the material accordingly. I went back to check the rear section I previously laid down and let me tell you this is on permanent and on for good! Once I’m done with the tunnel I will work on the firewall, kick panels, under cowl area, and doors and then it’s time to move over to the trunk area. And the floor is complete along with the rear seating area that includes quarter windows inside/out, front part of tubs, door striker area, rear seat divider, part of the firewall, rear A pillars, and headliner. Trunk area will now be covered in @soundshield then I’ll move back inside for the doors and behind the dash. Well not enough progress as I hoped to accomplish today with laying down @soundshield. I got in an #entanglement searching for a few washers at the hardware stores for my lower @tci_engineeringcontrol arms. After searching through 3 stores I found some a little thinner and the hole smaller than I would like. I went to a friends house to use his drill press only to find none of the bits could enlarge the holes #titaniumwashers!? ??‍♂️. Almost completed the trunk area with the @soundshield treatment. I’ve run out of deadener but I managed to cover a lot with what I have left. The trunk lid, around the gas tank area, rear package tray, and tail light section are next once I receive a refill of @soundshield I don’t think I will cover the back of the trunk divider at this moment until I figure out what I’m doing for upholstery back here. I cannot wait to get a sub box fabbed in the back, it will be glorious with help of #teamsoundshield .the mini tubs look massive, perhaps the pics don’t do it justice, but I’ll make a small vid walk around shortly if what’s been completed so far. We are close to wrapping this up. I love how it looks, it’s a shame upholstery will cover it up in the future ? Featured #camilathe68cougar build partners:

Don’t you just hate when a 2-5 minute job turns into an all evening job? I was simply going to take apart my 13” @wilwooddiscbrakes to get to the @tci_engineering 2” spindle (see YouTube link in bio for details) when my socket Allen heads snapped! ? not once, but 4 times on both sides! ? screws done have anti seize so after a few years they might have gotten a little seized. That or my Allen heads didn’t fit properly. Long story short check out the last pic to see how I was finally able to get them removed ? does this happen to anyone else frequently? ?. Folks, this is a vice grip WITH a stand. I needed this about 10 years ago ? crummy part is that I’ve spent a lot of time on the floor being creative with holding things down to cut, bend, etc. do yourself a favor and just get some kind of vice it isn’t worth it. I’ve definitely gone towards the light with this simple tool setup and I love it. I kick myself not getting one sooner. Big thank you to @mcartur08 and his bro for donating this to me to help with the build. This will be a staple tool used Shortly on upcoming episodes of “Projects within the project” ? Well I have yet another small setback with my rear suspension. When I first dropped off the parts for powder coating I labeled EVERYTHING and I left instructions to remove the bushings from the rear suspension at the powder coating shop. They agreed to removing the bushings...well I guess they interpreted as “remove some” long story short they ruined most of my rubber bushings in the first picture. ? In addition, my @heidtssuspensions outer hubs were sort of ruined as well. I wanted the the badge in clear coat and so to my surprise it was not coated. When I removed the green tape from the other hub they blasted it??‍♂️?. But WAIT, there’s MORE they used the wrong red color for my lower rear control arms and my lower bars ??. I’ve had some bumps along the road for this build. Maybe I’ll make a post about all of them after I get over this. The good thing is I spoke to the shop and they admitted they screwed up and would fix everything. Meaning covering the bill to get the @heidtssuspensions replacement bushings.
