So I’ve been cleaning out my garage and taking inventory of parts I have in preparation of bringing the car home shortly. I ended up coming across the license plate of the Cougar when I first bought it back in the year 2000 (damn I just aged myself). The tags are still labeled 2k because I put it under non-Op for a few months until I overhauled a few things...well that day to re-register never came. 20 years later, I will be finally bringing her back to her home to continue the build. Since I lagged on updates this time around here is the updates from the 3 stage cut and buff with @3mcollision products. The @basf_global avalanche grey paint and @glasurit_official clear really really popped! This clear is just incredible looking, I highly recommend it. Let me know what you think? So I finally picked up #camilathe68cougar from the shop ?? talk about an agonizing wait time with a few hiccups along the way! This ended up being an all day trip unfortunately as we had to wait for the Cougar to be cut and buffed, of course my father and I chipped in to help my cousin do some of the work and left him to do the cutting and polishing. I’m still in “awe” with the outcome of all the hard work we’ve put into this vision for my 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7...I cannot wait to show more progress from these steps. Well the guy responsible for body work and paint is this guy right here. Over the last year along with my dad busted our tails at my home getting this project off the ground (literally lol) we (mostly my body guy) put in 10 hours each day at my house busting his ass to get this Cougar right. I cannot thank him enough (other than with a bunch of moola thrown his way ?) on perseverance. A big shootout to all the folks in body and paint that do good, honest and hard work. You men and women make grown folks cry when complete ?. On a serious note, keep grinding and pushing past any speed bumps in each of your builds, it will take a long time in some cases but it is definitely worth it in the end. I mean look at me, I’ve owned this car for 20 years this year. You can do it too! Time to come back home #camilathe68cougar. How cool does the headliner look with @soundshieldoutfitted on #camilathe68cougar ? Covering it is almost a shame down the road but at least things will be much quieter going forward. Always make sure to prep surfaces properly before applying for maximum hold. Once this stuff is rolled on, it’s on there for good! So I’m not worried about this sagging in the future.
