I still had a check engine light (though I can't remember what it was for now) and some issues with the car running funny. I tried cleaning the MAF and that didn't work. Signs were looking like it was a bad throttle body or ETM as Volvo calls it. From my research it looked like the contacts would go bad, and would cause an issue with the car communicating with the throttle body. The best solution was a unit that was rebuilt by XeMODeX, and I was lucky enough to find one on eBay. There are some people who have fixed them themselves, but I felt it was easier to just swap them completely and keep the original one as a spare. I could always have that one rebuilt, or attempt to rebuild it myself. At this point I was feeling pretty good about the car! It was running and driving nicely, and I was looking forward to actually getting to drive it instead of uncovering problems.
