Yeah, it sucks fixing all the stuff that was already wrong with it plus fixing all the stuff that the previous owners "fixed". That rear panel where they molded the license plate is going to need a ton of work to get right... so are the rockers and roof.
The gold paint is 90% gone from the car. I still need to finish stripping the doors and some more trim. Unfortunately I ruined a couple trim pieces because I didn't know they were coated in rubber. The aircraft stripper ate right through them - oh well! Add that to the laundry list of parts it needs.
Anyone got any recommendations on how to clean a gas tank? I don't feel like paying $400 to get it fully reconditioned; I just want to clean the inside and strip and re-coat the outside.
Once I get this puppy painted I can get back to doing the mechanicals. I'm still undecided on what to do for an engine, but I'm leaning towards keeping it simple with a junkyard 7AGE.

OK, I've gotten both quarters, fenders, headlight covers, and the fuel door primered. Just need to finish stripping the doors and get the roof, rockers and tail panel done. Then smooth out the bondo'd spots and re-fill.
Yesterday was a good day.
Who picked up a J-Blood carbon hood for wicked cheap yesterday? This guy <-------
I wasn't planning on buying one, but it sorta fell in my lap. I might trade it plus cash for a stock hood and use the extra $$ to get moar parts to complete the car, but hey we'll see. It weighs 23lbs less than the steel hood!
Also picked up an SR5 trunk lid in white, which is the color I've decided to paint the car. Kinda pissed that the SR5 lid doesn't have a trunk lock. I might cut a hole and retrofit the GT-S lock in...
Got kouki tails, now I gotta find the center panel and trunk garnish to complete the look, as well as modifying the taillight panel... it's super effed up anyways.
Last but not least, got a low-mileage T50 to replace the grindy one, some bodywork hammers to attempt minor repairs with, and a media tumbler to clean bolts and small parts with. I shoulda skipped the walnut shells because they don't do ****.
