That's the idea. I need to pull the wiring harness, glass, firewall liner, and brake/clutch parts. Then I'll pull the gas tank just to check the condition and see if I need to fix anything underneath. I was gonna swap in a 4AGZE fuel pump but the screws to the pump cradle are stripped >:-( I'll tackle that later.
The plan is to get it completely bare minus the suspension/subframes which I'll mask off. Then once it's painted there should be no gray paint left over.
I need to buy a media blasting cabinet and one of those tumbler things that you can put walnut shells in and clean up small parts like bolts and such. That will be a big help. If only I had room for a crappy oven to powdercoat with! I'll probably sandblast what I can and use some POR-15 to paint any chassis parts.

Spent all day sanding today... awful. Still haven't gotten all the paint off. They used too low of a grit of sandpaper so there's scratches deep in the paint; I have to go down to almost bare metal... jackasses.

Ugh, this is ridiculous. Gonna try aircraft stripper and start fresh. I got the license plate surround off last night, and of course all the spot welds will gave to be ground down and smoothed over. I think I'll try to look for Kouki tail lights and surround to hide all that.
In other news, I'm considering swapping the 20v in my MR2 into the Corolla so I can put a 3SGTE in the MR2, muahaha

Aircraft stripper is a mess but it's wayyy cheaper than sandblasting. Gotta prime it quickly after to prevent flash rusting:
