Just collecting parts at this point, Josh at IIR has a fair bit of stuff being shipped to MPS in the next couple of weeks.
Turbo kit
FMIC
Headers
Gaskets
Bling bits
Etc etc
Also waiting on the custom pistons to be delivered from JE. Dom said probably a couple of weeks so realistically the long block will start going together mid next month. Got to space out the cost a little bit too lol!
Then once it's all together il put the car on the trailer and drive it down ready for major heart surgery!
It's a shame because I won't get the excitement of opening up any of my parts boxes lol
After such a huge investment I am going to be upset if we don't crack 500 whp!

Just curious if anyone has has any suggestions for additional parts I should be considering on this build?
Also for anyone running over 500whp, do you think il have traction issues with a slightly stretched tire?

I am actually running the agency power headers this time, much larger than my current piece of crap, turbo destroying FM headers!
As for the stretch I run a 9.5" rim with a 225/45/18 tire so they are quite stretched. I have noticed a slight decrease in cornering grip with the current setup so when the car is finished I will probably add some meat and raise the car up a bit.
I am also still running the stock 5 speed and will probably drive it till it breaks. Although with it being the LGT transmission there are a few people running 500whp with no issues, yet.
We currently waiting for the pistons to be made by JE, as they are delayed by a month or so. They are a custom design based on their billet pistons which will net a 9.2.1 comp ratio. According to Dom they should be pretty darn bullet proof. I am sure they are worth the wait.
The turbo kit and supporting mods is basically all ready to go. Just been talking to Dom about maybe stepping up to the MPS stage 3 heads for the bigger valves and porting.

So a bit of an update which I hadnt mentioned before and possible explanation of the "symptoms" my previous setup was suffering from:
After removing the motor and getting it ready to ship to its new owner we discovered a very large amount of oil in the turbo inlet. We checked the PCV valve and by the looks of it the OLD valve was re-installed on the car. I mentioned in earlier posts that I had purchased a new PCV and was not sure if it was installed or not! Turns out it was not and the old valve was plugged solid. That would explain the mass oil useage and smoking under WOT.
I also had a huge exhaust leak!! The gasket the connects the turbo to the uppipe was leaking badly and this would surely explian the rpm related ticking sound I was hearing as well!
So at this stage I am very curious to know what condition my old turbo (DOM 3 XTR) is actually in. I had always assumed that the turbo was the cause of the oil useage so again I am curious if the PCV was the c7ulprit all along. I had also mentioned earlier that some tiny slivers of metal had been sucked through the turbo and had not left any visible marks on the blades themselves.
I will be taking the turbo apart to inspect the internals this evening but how do I exactly do this? Do the hotside and coldsides unbolt and just leave the cartridge in the middle?
