Regardless, it's coming out. Wouldn't be a big deal on a track only car but we are going for more of a street thing. The cam is really mild for a solid roller and with a little more time to work on idle and driveability under different conditions in the tune, I should be able to get it really mellow. We just need to come up with an exhaust solution. Torque arm is a major problem on this.

New converter is in the car. The pre intercooler side of the charge pipe has been welded up to one piece with the only couplings being the 2 at the turbos and the one at the intercooler. Pretty much impossible for that side to come apart again. Only a couple test and tunes before DH12. Trying to get her ready and get the ramp rate dialed in for the launch. Also need some protree staging practice for the street car shootout.

Well today is the day, hopefully. The new FTI converter is in the car (the old one was also FTI but smaller and maxed out). He also got the power rack back in the car. He called me after driving it to the alignment shop. He said it's WAY tighter. I'm curious what it will do to the 60'. Hopefully have a 7sec slip tonite.

Shortest track outing EVER!!! LOL. Pulled her off the trailer, played around with the tune a little to get it up on the tbrake/2 step as high as possible and pulled into the staging lanes. Started the burn out in 1st gear and when he shifted into 2nd, the input shaft in the transmission broke.

Back on the trailer and back to his garage. Pulled the transmission out real quick. Slid the input shaft out and only half came out. Popped off the pump and we were able to get some visegrips on the other half and wiggled it out. So I look over on the ground and there is another Rossler Glide sitting there that another friend of ours just bought brand new for his LS7 427 T/A build. It was ordered as an exact clone of Steve's. So we slid the input shaft out of that one and it was a much beefier piece. Not sure why that is and Steve is calling Rossler today to find out what the deal is. We are thinking that when Steve shipped his transmission back to get gone thru and rebuilt a few weeks ago, maybe they grabbed the wrong input shaft when they put it back together.

Regardless, it's back together with the better input shaft and he will just order a replacement for Scotty's and slide it in.

Got one and a half passes tonite before snapping Scotty's input shaft. Kind of wierd that the last one lasted until the new converter and only been able to make 1 full pass since.

The one pass that he did get off, it 60'd like **** but it was expected. Added a bunch of timing down low to get up higher on the converter and the 2 step. Second pass built almost 9 psi and was heading for the bumper. Let off, got back in it and it was going for the bumper AGAIN. Let off, got back in it and SNAP!!!

From what I was able to find on line about the number on the shaft, it was a TCI Vaccu Melt 300. I think its a soft one. He ordered the bad boy from Rossler on Thursday. Hopefully it'll be here in time to make next Wednesday test and tune. The new shaft doesnt have the oring grooves in it which are the weak point. Apparently with this new shaft you cant use the trans pump to pump fluid thru the trans cooler.

The concern about the converter is that Greg @ FTI asked Steve something about a bushing (which depends on the glide I guess) in the specs of the converter and Steve wasn't really sure so he told him to build it the same as the last one. Not sure if getting that wrong would cause these issues or if it's just the power.

The one good pass was an 8.45 @ 171.5 w/ a 1.45 60'. Once he got going, the power came on all the sudden and he broke loose and pedaled. Still went a best MPH despite forgeting to turn on the A2W and charge temps being 60* higher than usual.
