98-02 NISSAN SKYLINE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Make space by shifting gear lever in backward position. Withdraw ashtray by pulling on opened lid.
2. Unwind retaining screw behind ashtray.
3. Remove gear lever panel by lifting from the back edge. The metal clips should snap loose with moderate force.
4. The panel is NOT free yet until the wiring for the cigarette lighter is disconnected and the OEM shift boot is unbuttoned around the collar of the gear knob.
5. Now panel can be fully removed. Pry off the self-gripping washers from the plastic pins with screw- driver or similar tools to release the OEM shift boot.
6. Installation of the new Redline shift boot is the reverse order of the above. Locate the new shift boot over the plastic pins (the holes are already precisely prepared on the new shift boot) and snap washers back on. Replace panel and screw, then ashtray.
7. Remove e-brake boot by flexing out the metal wire frame at the base and undoing snap-on button at the collar of the e-brake lever.
8. Remove metal wire frame from the OEM boot by cutting it out. Thread metal frame back in the seam of the new boot. Replace boot in gear lever panel and fasten Velcro to secure around collar.
CONGRATULATIONS - YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED YOUR NEW LEATHER BOOTS!
Useful tip
You have installed a product made out of genuine leather. As you know, to maintain a leather product in good condition, you should take care of it. We suggest occasionally (every 4-6 week for example) applying some leather conditioner/UV protector to keep your leather from drying up in the sun and cracking.
