1966 Imperial Crown

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving and long weekend. 

Just wanted to update you on the Crown, we are bringing it back to the main shop today to get the rest of the suspension done as well as get the engine and transmission put back into the car. We also have the dash dyed and ready to go back in as well. We have an appointment scheduled for the interior work to be started on February 1st, so it will be painted be then. 

I was able to get all the chrome dropped off at the chrome shop last week. I attached the estimate that they gave me for the work. I didn't want to make the call on what to do since it was such a high amount. The total for everything is $32,250($24,000 for chrome, $8250 for refinishing the hub caps), that doesn't not include painting the centers of the hubcaps and the black detail on the grill. That is time and material with them. I attached the estimates from them so you can see what they are charging for each part. If you want to eliminate some parts that's fine, I just didn't know what we could eliminate knowing what we are putting into the rest of the car. The paint and interior are going to look great, and I didn't want to have the chrome be the shortcoming of the car. There may be a few parts from the seats that might also need to be sent to chrome, but I want the interior shop to take those off since the seat has to come part to get them off. 

I have attached a couple pictures of the car with the firewall painted as well as pictures of the engine after it was painted. I think the car is going to look amazing in black. We also have the parts for the disc brake conversion on its way and should be here in a week or so.

I have also attached an updated invoice for you to look over. It has the disc brake conversion on it, but not the added cost of the chrome, just the initial cost we had in for redoing the bumpers. I did have to add more hours in to the body work section of the invoice, since we are spending a lot more time on getting the car straight due to it having previous body work on the passenger side rear quarter(that had to be ground out and redone) and also the car being so flat and going to black it needs a lot more block sanding to make sure it looks straight and you don't see any imperfections in it. Black paint shows all the flaws in body work.  

Let me know what you want to do with the chrome work. If you want to proceed with the chrome work I would need a check for that since they want half down to start the work.
