I guess it was a bit of a plug on my part for RRM. Sorry, couldn't help it. I really like RRM, and I didn't think it was worth its own thread.
Not sure about the specs, but the manufacturer claims 220+ whp. I haven't dyno'd the car. Instead have just been breaking it in. Feels good. It doesn't pull hard like a WRX or Evo, but it's way quicker than a regular SX4. I feel like it definately needs a 6th gear now, moreso than before (I've always felt the rpm's were too high at 60 mph/highway speeds). The newer ones have it.
The car handles nothing like a regular SX4. Despite the sometimes rough ride, the thing corners really, really flat, and corners hard. It is definately what I would call sports car-like handling. It stops really hard too. No fade. Way more braking power than I need.
As to the budget...
..well, I went way over. I definately spent over $16 K on this build (and I still cut a lot of corners, such as buying a used turbo kit, and opting for the cheapest possible suspensionupgrade). I would not recommend this type of build, for someone on a budget.

Coolness factor is definately up there IMO too! This is the Suzuki I wish I had. I have a bad habit of wanting Japanese cars I can't have
I would really love to see someone make a kit for the SX4 that looks like this.
Has anybody heard of Nutter Racing Engines? http://www.nutterracingengines.com/r...g_engines.html
They make 1.8L, 4 cyl engines.
I think that if I had an umlimited budget for this car, I would ditch the J20A engine and put a 1.8 T engine in there that could make 400 hp very reliably.
Hell, that's not so crazy, is it? VW wanted to buy the SX4 and put their engine in it. The rally car in the pic above, has that type of engine... and it's a Suzuki engine. ...but that Suzuki engine probably cost $50-100 K to build!! ...and it won't meet emissions requirements. A VAG 1.8 T or 2.0T/TT can!!
